I would have to agree with this article. Hard-wired security systems are not necessarily the best option nowadays. Wireless systems are sometimes discouraged because of problems with interference, but with modern advances, interference is extremely minimal, and for the DIY type, a wireless security system is a better option for the sake of practicality.
